Are entrepreneurs born or made?

This week I read an article on INC.com which stated that 48% of entrepreneurship is genetic. (Read article here) This conclusion was reached by studying identical and fraternal twins and tracking which became entrepreneurs. Apparently some business schools with entrepreneurship majors or minors are upset about the idea that almost half of the world’s entrepreneurs can be made regardless of their education level.
To all of the entrepreneurs reading this…Were you the first in your family to step out and start your own business?
Has have you found success? If so, how many failures did you have before you found success?
Please share a little bit of your knowledge for those people struggling with the idea of giving up their steady paycheck. I, and many other say that this is the perfect time to get a business off the ground. Many companies are making deals to move product, many property management companies are begging for tenants, many companies are spending money in order to save money… as it has been said many times before, its time to “Get in, where you fit in.”
(What the Inc. article failed to mention was that this is not new news… the more detailed article found here was written in 2006, as a result of what seems to be the same data used in 2009, by INC.com.)
