His Point of View

By now I am sure that you are aware of the rift among US Citizens created by the debate of the Healthcare bill working its way through congress (HR 3200).  Personally I am now quite sure if I am for or against the bill, as so many legislators and talking heads are publicly debating the bill, yet they have not read it themselves.  There are summaries and talking points available that many people are basing their arguments on, but any summary of a document is inherently biased.  Any time a person boils down facts into a summary they are using their opinion of what is important as a frame of reference, in addition to possible personal agenda(s) which might also skew their interpretation of the facts.  The only way to obtain unbiased information is to get it directly from the source your self.

The other issue I have with the controversy is that many people, including myself feel that the problem is not Health Care.  I am certain that the real issue here is control and power in Congress.  I do not believe that there is not a single Republican who wants to support this bill, it saddens me that decisions are made not because they are the best for the citizens of America, but because they fit into a political party’s agenda.  If all of the Democrats can’t agree to vote for the bill, I am sure that there are some Republicans who want to vote for the bill, but will not because it would equate to political suicide, their fellow Republicans would surely turn against anyone who steps out of line on this issue.  I don’t want the bill to pass if it is not best for the majority of Americans, but I don’t want it to pass or fail simply due to partisan politics.
